Meet Nancy-Lynne Walters

Louisville Is Home.

Nancy-Lynne Walters was born and raised in Louisville and grew up in District 17. A graduate of Ballard High School, she went on to Indiana University, where she earned a degree in Journalism and Public & Environmental Affairs.

Her career took her to cities across the country, where she worked as a television news journalist and voice actor. But Louisville was always home.

At age 35, Nancy returned to her hometown and began a new career in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Today, she works in neuroscience sales while raising her two teenage daughters here in Louisville.

For Nancy-Lynne serving the community has never simply meant talking about what should be done. It has meant showing up and doing the work.

A Record of Service to Our Community

Long before running for office, Nancy was volunteering her time to Louisville organizations, schools, families, and neighborhoods.

Her community involvement includes:

  • More than 10 years volunteering with Ronald McDonald House, including regularly preparing and serving meals for families.

  • Historic Homes Foundation volunteer, helping support the preservation of Louisville's history and character.

  • Six years with the Anchorage Civic Club, working alongside neighbors to strengthen the community.

  • Nine years as President of Anchorage Children's Theatre Company, supporting opportunities for local children and families.

  • Nearly two years as an Anchorage Independent School Board member, serving in an unpaid volunteer position.

Nancy-Lynne believes local government should reflect that same spirit of service: listen carefully, solve problems, spend responsibly, and stay focused on the basic responsibilities residents expect their city to get right.

Common Sense Priorities for Louisville

Safer Neighborhoods

Every family deserves to feel safe in their home, neighborhood, school, and community.

Nancy-Lynne supports fully staffing the Louisville Metro Police Department so officers have the manpower and resources necessary to protect Louisville residents.

She also believes Louisville needs a functioning juvenile detention center so the city has an effective way to address serious juvenile crime while protecting the broader community.

Nancy-Lynne’s focus:

  • Fully staff LMPD.

  • Prioritize neighborhood safety.

  • Support law enforcement with the resources needed to do the job.

  • Establish an effective juvenile detention option for Louisville.

Stronger Infrastructure

Good infrastructure is about more than roads.

City buildings, sidewalks, parks, libraries, streets, and public spaces help turn neighborhoods into communities. Louisville should maintain those assets at a standard residents can be proud of.

Nancy-Lynne will advocate for responsible investment in the everyday infrastructure people rely on while expecting city government to maintain what taxpayers are already paying for.

Nancy-Lynne’s focus:

  • Better-maintained roads and sidewalks.

  • Safe, accessible city facilities.

  • Strong parks and public spaces.

  • Quality neighborhood libraries.

  • Responsible maintenance and long-term planning.

A Better Place to Do Business

Louisville should be a city where entrepreneurs and employers want to invest.

Too often, businesses trying to open, expand, hire, or build in Louisville face unnecessary delays and complicated city processes.

Nancy-Lynne wants Metro Government to become a partner in responsible economic growth rather than another obstacle businesses have to overcome.

She will advocate for streamlining permitting and approval processes, reducing unnecessary red tape, and making it easier for businesses to open their doors and create jobs.

Nancy-Lynne’s focus:

  • Streamline pathways for economic development.

  • Reduce unnecessary regulatory delays.

  • Make city processes easier to navigate.

  • Support entrepreneurs and local businesses.

  • Encourage employers to invest and grow in Louisville.

Conservative Values. Local Focus.

Nancy-Lynne believes Metro Council should concentrate on the responsibilities closest to home: keeping neighborhoods safe, maintaining the community, supporting families, encouraging economic opportunity, and making city government work better.

Her approach is grounded in conservative values and common sense leadership:

Safe neighborhoods.
Responsible government.
Strong communities.
Economic opportunity.

And a Metro Council member who listens to the people she represents.
